Ref: Your application dated 25th May 2003(Received in DOE
on 1 st October 2003)
With reference
to the above, the under signed is pleased to inform you that upon receiving your
application , the Department of Environment carried out successive tests and observed
that the water passes through the appliance kills pathogenic Bacteria . The Department
of Environment also evaluated test results submitted by you on the chemical parameters
carried out by other reputed laboratories. The results
have been found to be satisfactory to comply with the drinking water standards of
the country.
It is desirable
that the mechanism of the device should always be able to meet the standard of
the drinking water. DOE suggests the local agent of WELCO to produce performance
reports to DOE in terms of drinking water quality that could be conducted for one
of ten sold out devices through random sampling.
DOE considers
that in case of any complaint on any sold out unit, the device should be subjected
to appropriate tests to be conducted in qualified laboratories by the own resources
of the company. DOE is also of the opinion that the company should be liable to
undertake corrective measures on the appliances or the replacement needed thereof,
based on the test results.
