Purification Filtration System is the
Hercules
Whole House Iron Sulfur Chlorine Filter. A surface oxidizing media effectively
removes iron, sulfur, chlorine, manganese, smelly odor, bad taste,
staining, sediment, particulate indefinitely with no filter
media changes. Lasts indefinitely - no need to repack this tank.

stage
of the House WHOLLY WATER ® Purification
System
Whole House Water Filtration Systems for Removal of Bad Tastes,
Odors, Chlorine, and Organics such as THM's; and Inorganics such
as Lead. By combining granular activated coconut shell carbon
with the patented redox media "KDF®-55", a synergy
exists which increases the effective life of the carbon. "KDF®-55"
media which removes the inorganic contaminants such as lead and
other heavy metals on the EPA primary contaminant list... a function
which carbon alone cannot do.
In the Third stage, chlorine, volatile organic chemicals
(VOC's) such as THM's bad tastes and odors, are removed by adsorption
into the bed of granular coconut shell activated carbon. These
form a maze of tortuous paths through which the water flows.
These serve as "capture spaces" for the contaminants
at ppm and ppb ionic sizes. Dual Media - KDF®-55/"Premium
Coconut Shell GAC" inhibits the growth of bacteria, algae,
and fungus inside the unit. (EPA registration #066427-FL-001)
KDF ®-55/"Premium Coconut Shell GAC" also removes
chlorine, lead, mercury, and other heavy metals. Activated Coconut
Shell Carbon removes volatile organic chemicals (VOC's), pesticides,
herbicides, insecticides, bad tastes, odors, and chlorine. Can
be repacked.
3rd Tank: Fourth stage Arsenic
- Fluoride Purification Filtration Filter has a State-of-the-Art
blend of 2 media specifically formulated for selectively removing
Arsenic, Fluoride, & Heavy Metals. Can be re-packed.
Final
filter (in back of 3rd tank): A 1-micron filter cartridge in 10 or 20-inch housing
to remove parasites (cryptosporidium, giardia lamblia) and finer
particulate down to 1-micron size. The only maintenance required
is to insert a new filter cartridge into the final filter housing
at least once a year.
Automatic
Backwash
With proper backwashing, your system can last a long time (depending
on system you have). The first filter tank will last indefinitely.
The 2nd & 3rd tanks have repack filter media kits for lifetime
use. Backwash frequency depends on your water quality.

You will Need Chlorine Pre-treatment
if you have:
- Bacteria,
e.g. Iron bacteria, sulfur bacteria, E.
Coli, coliform
- Iron and/or
sulfur level over 3 parts ppm
- Chlorine
also removes tannins, mold, mildew & algae.

Note: Some of the above materials
may coat filter media, stopping
its catalytic action because no contact is actually made with
its surface. Chlorine is needed to keep the filter media clean.
This will remove the Chlorine and keep it out of your water.
All you need for Chlorine is inexpensive household bleach. Average
use about 1 gallon per month.
